got a Juggernaut toy from a friend :)
A week ago, Alejandro "Boy" Sicat, inker of Marvel's District X and now Mutopia, went back to the Philippines. At my request, he found us a Juggernaut action figure that my wife and I have been looking for but can't seem to find, except for the over-priced ones displayed inside hobby shops. Now, it was graciously given to us by a friend. How cool is that? Thanks Boy for the sweet gift. May your great fortune being the inker of Lan Medina continue.
He also showed me pages from the book he's working on. Fantabulous as usual. I hope, he'll stay a little longer next time.

It's Monday again...
Unfortunately, I had to finish a deadline. So, I have here an image of DIGMAAN done 3years ago. Captain Barbell and Darna's design here and color schemes are different. Sketches on bond paper and colored using photoshop.
I am still finishing three pages of Digmaan as I type this entry, You'll probably see them within 24 hours :)
My apologies for the delay. Hey it's Monday Web Ring day again, enjoy!

an old image of the CAPTAIN
I found this image from another site. This is the very first costume of Captain Barbell. I am trying to do the closest look to this version, because I wanted to pay tribute to Mars Ravelo's original vision of the character. I am thinking that, if Spiderman's look never needed so much costume change and the original have always stayed. Why should I change Captain Barbell's costume too much?
ZARBOT DESIGN FOR DIGMAAN
Here is a better look of my design of a new-look ZARBOT for DIGMAAN. I've always loved the simplicity of this character. When I a kid and reading this title. I kept on thinking that maybe the ZAR on ZARBOT means or derived from the word CZAR. So I guess this guy is the king/lord of BOTS.

Collaboration
Here is an Ironfist piece. Sketched by me and then Philip Tan finalized the image. Michael Bartolo colored this afterwards. All for fun.

Our very own captain.
Mars Ravelo's Captain Barbell is far none the Philippines' most popular superhero strongman. He was created to promote good health for the filipinos. But for me, he's shown so much more than that. I think he symbolizes our country as a whole. For as Enteng, the original skinny guy who was chosen because of his pure selfless heart lifts a golden Barbell to become a champion to save the oppressed from any type of bad elements that plagues our country. Captain Barbell inspired readers to keep on going when the going gets tough.
I for one, sees him this way. Endurance is what our people has to offer in this world. Hope is always there to get us through a very rough day. Even if we may seem weak to overcome any obstacle, it only takes heart to endure and finally succeed in the end.
So here is my version of him. I think this is the closest rendition to the original costume.
